A Blog for My Daughter

Words from a Mother

Well, I figured I might as well make a post about what’s happening because who knows what kind of mark this could make on history.

Today was your last day of school for three weeks as the state of Ohio has closed all schools. Grocery stores are basically empty of all supplies and people are self-quarantining in their house. At least I’d like to think they are. We certainly are.

We went shopping today while you were in school and picked up a couple things of food and yesterday you and I went to Dollar General and got some toilet paper and some canned items. At this moment we have food to get through about two weeks. So I know I will need to get milk and cereal fruit things like that. But we can survive if we have to.

The reason for this is because of the coronavirus. Virus that started in China made his way in to Europe and has now reached the United States. If I’m remember correctly Ohio is the third state to have people with this virus. I don’t understand all of it nor do I want to. I just know to stay inside avoid the public keep ourselves safe. We won’t be seeing any grandparents for a while because they’re at highest risk so that’s kind of sad but we will be calling and face timing with them to keep in touch.

The next three weeks will certainly be train because were basically stuck on our property. We will only leave the house if absolutely necessary. Hopefully when the three weeks is up this seems to have lessened and things can go back to normal but they say that the virus will probably peak mid-April or early May. So school may be out for a while.

I am currently working on rescheduling my wedding show as they have banned gatherings of more than 100 people. Which really sucks and will make things hard. But we will get through.

One day at a time.
